Changing till system without losing a trading day.

Most people put this off because they imagine a week of chaos. It is four steps and a quiet Tuesday night.

Switching EPOS provider without shutting the shop

Data migration, an out-of-hours install, training on your own product file and a first week with someone on hand. Changing till system is the part everybody dreads; this is exactly how it goes.

STEP 01

We look at what you have

Your product file, your prices, your promotions and your current bill. Nothing is thrown away.

STEP 02

We build it and you sign it off

We load and check everything, then you review it before anyone touches the counter.

STEP 03

Install out of hours

Hardware fitted overnight or on a quiet morning, so you do not lose a trading day.

STEP 04

First week with support close by

Training on your own products, and someone on hand for your first busy sessions.

What we need from you

Three things, and we do the rest.

Product file

Whatever your current system exports. If it will not export, we will work from your shelf.

Current bill

Your EPOS invoice and a card statement, so the quote compares like with like.

A quiet night

Pick the evening. We fit around your trade, not the other way round.

Questions

What everyone asks before moving.

Will I lose a trading day?

No. Installs are done out of hours — usually overnight — with the product file loaded and checked before the shop opens. The first trading day on the new system is a normal one.

What do you need from my current provider?

An export of the product file, with barcodes, costs and retail prices. Most systems will produce this; if yours will not, we can usually work from a report instead. EPOS contracts and lock-in covers what to ask for and when.

What if I am still in contract?

Then wait, and plan. Find your notice period and the window it has to be given in, and diarise both. We would rather you left cleanly in four months than paid an exit fee to move next week.

Does my sales history come across?

The product file does, and that is the part that matters day to day. Historical sales generally stay with the old system, so export whatever reporting you want to keep before your access ends — that access often stops on the day the contract does.

How long does the whole thing take?

Usually two to three weeks from saying yes, most of which is preparing and checking the product file. The part that happens in your shop is one night.

What happens in the first week?

Someone is on hand. Not a number to ring — a person who knows your setup, checking in while the first full week of trading goes through, because that is when the real questions appear.

Start with a conversation, not a contract.
