Home / Product / The till
Serve a queue without slowing it down.
Everything on this screen exists to shorten the time between the first scan and the drawer closing — at five o’clock on a Friday, with six people waiting.
Point of sale software for the counter
The till screen is the part of the EPOS system your team touches every day: barcodes, weighed lines, age checks, held baskets and refunds, on one screen that keeps working when the line to the internet does not.
On the counter
Baskets of one item, and baskets of forty.
- ✓Barcode, weighed and open-price lines on one screen, with scale integration for produce and deli.
- ✓Age-restriction prompts that stop the sale until the check is confirmed and log who authorised it.
- ✓Promotions and multibuys applied automatically, so the shelf edge and the receipt agree.
- ✓Held baskets so a forgotten wallet does not stop the queue behind it.
- ✓Refunds with reason codes, printed separately and attributed to a named user.
- ✓Scratchcard pack entry so lottery lines reconcile with everything else.

Selling from a menu: pictured buttons, weighed lines at £3.00/kg beside each-priced lines, and the basket building on the right.

Questions
What people ask about the till.
Does the till keep working if the internet drops?
Yes. The product file is held on the till, so scanning, pricing and cash sales carry on exactly as normal. Card payments need the line. Everything syncs back to the back office once the connection returns, and nothing is lost.
How does it handle weighed lines?
On the same screen as barcoded ones, priced per kilo from a connected scale. Loose fruit, a deli counter, pet feed and pick-and-mix all behave like any other line, and they report alongside everything else.
Can I hold a basket and serve someone else?
Yes. A basket can be held and recalled, which is what makes a price check or a forgotten item something other than a reason for the queue to stop.
What happens on an age-restricted line?
The sale stops until it is authorised under an operator’s own login, rather than showing a message that can be dismissed. Refusals are recorded with the time, the operator and the line. Challenge 25 at the till goes through what that record needs to contain.
Can staff do refunds without me?
Yes, under their own login, with the reason recorded. Refunds then appear in reporting against a person and a session rather than against the shop in general.
How many shift ends can I do in a day?
As many as you need. Sessions are numbered and each has its own float, so a shop running three shifts gets three cash-ups that each tie out on their own rather than one Z-read at closing.
